A cake cutting ceremony in the main lobby of Yosemite’s majestic lodge, The Ahwahnee, recently commemorated the AAA four-diamond facility’s 80th year of guest hospitality in the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Representing hotel concessionaire DNC Parks & Resorts at Yosemite, General Manager Chance Jorgensen had the honor of slicing the first piece of the cake, designed by Ahwahnee Executive Pastry Chef Kees Thuys, and the 80 pieces were distributed to beaming hotel patrons and passers by.
