Ship-wide party with live entertainment, numerous dining options, fireworks extravaganza and elegant overnight accommodations make for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve
Celebrate New Year’s Eve on the Queen Mary in Long Beach. A 29-year tradition, the annual party attracts thousands of revelers looking to ring in the New Year in style. Tickets for this year’s festivities, which include live entertainment and an enormous fireworks display, will be available for purchase Dec. 1 from http://www.queenmary.com. Overnight packages, including tickets, can be reserved now by calling (877) 342-0742. The music will last into the early hours of 2011, from DJ to live jazz, big band and a showdown between dueling pianists. Performances will take place in venues throughout the ship, and guests are free to roam the decks and bounce from party to party. Just before midnight, merrymakers can gather on the outer decks of the ship for a spectacular fireworks display to kick off the New Year. The waterfront vantage point offers the Queen Mary’s guests the best view in the city for the 20-minute show. All are invited to make a night or a weekend out of the event, but reservations and payment are required in advance due to the event’s popularity. Tickets are $99 per person and include access to all of the onboard entertainment, cash bars, and the fireworks show at midnight. Stateroom packages include two event tickets, a $125 dining credit, which may be used at the dinner buffet, Chelsea Chowder House or Sir Winston’s (advance reservations required) plus a New Year’s Day breakfast buffet in the Grand Salon. Tickets to the ship’s celebration are available to guests 21 and older. Parking is additional. For more information, see www.queenmary.com or call (800) 437-2934.
