Sixth Annual Queen Mary Art Deco Festival Scheduled for Labor Day Weekend

The Sixth Annual Queen Mary Art Deco Festival aboard the historic ocean liner is scheduled for Labor Day Weekend, September 3- 5, 2010. The Festival, which successfully premiered in 2005, is being presented by the Queen Mary in association with the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles. Proceeds from the event will benefit the preservation efforts of the Grand Salon murals, Birds of the New World and Birds of the Old World by A. Duncan Carse.

New Art Exhibit: The Art of Debriefing, Opening Aboard The Queen Mary

On November 14, 2009, a new photography exhibit will open aboard the Queen Mary in the Sun Deck Gallery. The exhibit, The Art of Debriefing, is a collection of over 200 Gelatin Silver photographs depicting candid reflections of imprints on those touched by war. Presented by 4 photographers, the exhibit explores the life of veterans and their personal experiences of re-entry into a civilian lifestyle. The Art of Debriefing was previously hosted by the Museum of History and Art (Ontario, CA), the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum (Chicago, IL) and LAAVAA (Culver City, CA).
