Yosemite National Park Announces Badger Pass Ski Shuttle from Oakhurst
New Transportation Service to Popular Park Ski Area Provides Winter Convenience for Residents Along Highway 41 Corridor

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif., December 7, 2009 - A new shuttle bus service for skiers between the Sierra foothills town of Oakhurst and the Badger Pass Ski Area in Yosemite National Park is scheduled to begin along highway 41 on Saturday, December 19. Residents and visitors to the Oakhurst area will be able to board the weekend shuttle with their skis and enjoy a leisurely trip into Yosemite's winter wonderland through the final day of Badger Pass' operations on Sunday, April 4.

"We couldn't be more pleased with this new offering to our neighbors in Oakhurst," said Paul Ratchford, vice president of operations for Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts, the official concessioner in Yosemite National Park. "Affording our guests with an inexpensive means of transportation up to Badger Pass will allow those who don't drive or prefer not to drive a chance to relax and enjoy the spectacular winter scenery that Yosemite has to offer."

A 47-passenger bus will operate along the 38-mile route on weekends (Saturdays & Sundays), and the calendar period from Saturday, December 26 through Sunday, January 3 at a cost of $10 per person, round trip, which includes entry through the south gate of Yosemite.

Subject to sufficient snowfall for Badger Pass' opening on Friday, December 18, the inaugural run on December 19 will depart from Miller's Mountain Sports' new location at 40343 Highway 41 in Oakhurst at 7am and will return by 5:30pm. The shuttle will also make a routine stop at the Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite in the town of Fish Camp at 8am and return riders to that location at 4:30pm en route back to Oakhurst. The shuttle arrives at the Badger Pass Ski Area each morning of operation at 9am and departs the resort for its southern return at 3:45pm.
